A Longboarder's Journey to Late Blooming
This summer/spring/fall, I decided to finally/eventually/just give longboarding a try/a go/the ol' college try. It seemed like all/every/most the cool kids were doing it/shredding on it/cruising around and I wanted in/was feeling left out/couldn't resist. I figured, what do I have to lose/risk/fear? The worst that could happen is I eat pavement/take a tumble/faceplant.
Turns out, it wasn't as easy as it looked. My first few rides/attempts/sessions were more like wobbly shuffles/clumsy stumbles/terrifying near-crashes. I was the definition of a late bloomer/beginner/longboard newbie, but that didn't stop me from practicing every day/getting out there/trying again and again.
